90s Bandhani Lehenga and Dupatta (Skirt & Scarf)
Gorgeous vintage lightweight lehenga with matching dupatta. This is from our own personal vintage collection, gifted to our founder in 1999. Both lehenga and dupatta are pristine, absolutely soft and the best part...amazing to dance in!
The light silk fabric is dyed using a technique called bandhani, from Rajasthan, and has beaded gold flowers throughout. Dyed in tie-dye style, the art of bandhani is a highly skilled process. In this the fabric is tied into small points with threads and when dyed, the knotted parts remain uncoloured. The dyes are mostly made of natural ingredients such as leaves, roots, and flowers.
The major color schemes used in this lehenga and dupatta are yellow, saffron, red, and green. The colors all have special significance; red is the symbol of marriage, saffron is the color of divinity, yellow stands for knowledge and green is for Spring and new beginnings.
No condition issues.
